Dr. Jessie Saulteaux Centre Minimize

Diaconal Ministry at The Dr. Jessie Saulteaux Resource Centre is a vital stream in the five-year theological program. As we are ‘community-based’, Aboriginal men and women attend classes for two weeks at a time, four times a year, while working a minimum of 20 hours per week in a recognized field placement. Non-aboriginal women and men have participated in the program with support from an Aboriginal community.

In addition to the four intensive sets of classes, students are expected to attend a week of “Self-Governance in the Church” with full participation in All Native Circle Conference. Our women and men graduates who have been commissioned to diaconal ministry continue to share their various gifts for education, social justice and pastoral care through social services, policing, education and ministry with pastoral charges.
