Francis Sandy Theological Centre Minimize

Francis Sandy Theological Centre offers a community-based ministry preparation program leading to ordination, lay ministry, and commissioning to diaconal ministry. All students gather at Francis Sandy one week per month, ten months of the year for five years, combined with in-community ministry leadership. While all students share the same learning circle, those who discern that diaconal ministry is their path will use the lens of diaconal ministry.

In the informal setting at Francis Sandy, we are able to call upon resource leaders who are specifically chosen to meet the needs of our circle members. A diaconal student will find diaconal ministers leading a variety of learning circles. This may be in such areas of study as Pastoral Care, Theology, Christian Education or Leadership Development. In the past, students from the Centre for Christian Studies have joined our circles to meet some academic requirements. CCS graduates have also provided resource leadership and eldership in our circles. A combined CCS/FSTC diploma was created to meet the needs of one diaconal candidate called to Native Ministry.
